NHCP Emergency Management

EMERGENCIES HAPPEN
Disasters affect hundreds of thousands of people every year, some with little to no advance warning. It may happen to you. While the NHCP Emergency Management Department and first responders are committed to helping those in need; assistance may be delayed during a disaster. As part of our NHCP family, you have a role in planning for emergencies – Be/Stay informed. Make a plan. Build a kit.

Mission

The Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Emergency Management Department is committed to proactive planning and preparation in support of emergency response operations within Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton as well as our local community. It is our goal to ensure that our NHCP staff and families are provided with the tools they need to prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from the consequences of emergency and disaster events.

About
The Emergency Management Department coordinates NHCP’s emergency operations program and any internal response that is required in the event of an emergency. Emergency Management also ensures ongoing situational awareness of incidents occurring aboard MCB Camp Pendleton and Branch Clinics located in Yuma and Port Hueneme. We also monitor ongoing events as they occur throughout the region.

In times of emergency aboard the installation, the Crisis Action Team (CAT) is activated and staffs the MCIWEST-MCB Camp Pendleton Emergency Operations Center to support the response efforts of the Installation. Representatives from NHCP are represented within the Base EOC.

NHCP’s preparedness program includes planning, training and exercising as an overall part of the preparedness paradigm. The Emergency Management Working Group (EMWG) produces preparedness plans and involves stakeholders in emergency management planning efforts. Additionally, the EMWG develops and conducts training programs and exercises in order to meet our requirements.
