Mission
The mission of the Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command is to plan and execute the design, acquisition, assembly, integration, storage, shipment, maintenance, and life-cycle support of Navy deployable medical assets in prepositioned sites; act as a technical advisor for the de-activation and activation of fleet medical assets; and perform such functions and tasks as directed by higher authority.
Philosophy
The mission of the Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command (NEMSCOM) is clear: to save the lives of our Sailors, Marines, Soldiers and Airmen by providing the right medical resources to our combat support medical teams, at the right time, and at the right cost anywhere in the world.
To accomplish this, we will follow the Six C’s of Commitment:
-
Commitment to Mission: As Navy Medicine’s lead agent for deployable medical systems, we will save lives through the superb combat medical readiness we provide in the platform-based Fleet Hospitals (FH), Expeditionary Medical Facilities (EMF) and Forward Deployable Preventive Medicine Units (FDPMU) produced at NEMSCOM.
-
Commitment to Transformation and Innovation: We will transform our business to be more Responsive, more Agile and with Increased Interoperability to better meet the demands of the Navy-Marine Corps warriors in any conflict, Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Relief or other operation in which expeditionary medical support is needed.
-
Commitment to Teamwork: Our NEMSCOM Team includes military, a professional civilian workforce and contractors. We encourage good working relations between Directorates, Departments, and outside organizations. Teamwork produces results.
The Six “C”s of Commitment reflect our History and our Future. They are guiding principles, which will lead us to our goal: Providing Deployable Medical Systems (DEPMEDS) with 100% of the right combat medical support material and equipment, at the right time and at the right cost.
