Ambulatory Procedure Unit (APU)

The APU provides pre- and post-operative care to same-day adult and pediatric surgery patients. The range of services includes orthopedic, oral, podiatry, and general surgery procedures.

General Surgery

Location: 2nd floor, east wing
Hours Monday-Friday, 0730-1600

The General Surgery Clinic provides evaluation of patients for medical issues that may require general surgery. Typical surgeries include hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, appendectomies, vasectomies, breast biopsies, and more. Surgeries are performed at Naval Hospital Beaufort in our fully staffed operating room. The clinic also has a breast health nurse who guides any patients with breast health concerns through their appointments, tests, procedures, screenings.

Main Operating Room (OR)

The main OR room suite provides perioperative care for surgical patients 24 hours a day, seven day a week. The surgical services provided include: orthopedics, podiatry, general, oral-maxillofacial, gynecology, and endoscopy. Our goal is to meet and exceed the needs of our internal and external customers.

Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery

Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery (OMS) is a surgical specialty that diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and defects of the facial and oral region, specifically the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face.  Naval Hospital Beaufort OMS provides a full scope of services to our active duty personnel including:  wisdom teeth, facial pain, misaligned jaws, tumors and cysts, facial cosmetic surgery, cleft and craniofacial deformities, facial reconstruction, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, sleep apnea treatment, TMJ solutions, and facial trauma call. Sedation and general anesthesia are available for all procedures.

Orthopedic Clinic

The Orthopedic Clinic's day to day services include correcting and treating problems for a variety of conditions that involve the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. They also provide surgical services here at the hospital for many orthopedic conditions. Clinic staff includes two orthopedic surgeons, two podiatrists, and one orthopedic physician's assistant.

Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

The PACU provides observation and care of surgery patients "recovering" from the immediate effects of anesthesia.
