Pharmacy

Our Pharmacy personnel are trained professionals whose focus is providing you with the best possible healthcare.  We work with your physician to make sure you are receiving the correct strength and schedule your physician has prescribed.  Your prescription is constantly checked to ensure that it is properly filled, labeled and free of significant drug interactions.  We are available to answer questions and concerns you may have about your medications.  For your safety, always read the instruction label and any precautionary labels on your medication bottle before administering or taking the first dose.  Please ask us if you are unsure about how and when to take your medications.

Filling Prescriptions
A valid ID card is required for any patient over 10 years old that is receiving a prescription.  If a patient is under 10 years of age and does not have a valid ID card, then the sponsor or his/her dependent over the age of 16 with a valid ID card may pick up his or her prescription(s).  Copies of ID cards and/or a Power of Attorney may be used to pick up medications.

Please be aware that all prescriptions brought to the pharmacy must contain the doctor's original signature.  Electronic signatures are not accepted in pharmacies in the state of South Carolina or at DoD facilities.

Phone in Refill System:
The Pharmacy at Naval Hospital has a mandatory Command policy requiring patients to call in all refills. Please be advised that walk-in refills are not allowed. Refills will be ready for pick-up at the Drive-through pharmacy two working days after they are called in. Refills are held for seven days.

Directions:

Call the refill number listed on your label 843-228-5402. Follow directions from the automated system. You will need your prescription number and the last four digits of the sponsor's social security number (see example below.)

You will pickup your prescriptions at the convenient drive-through window.

On-Line Prescription Refill System:
This can be done through Tricare.

What medications are available?

The Naval Hospital Beaufort Drug Formulary (medication list carried by the NHB pharmacy) is available for viewing on-line. If the NHB pharmacy does not have your medication, there is a good chance that the Tricare Mail Order Pharmacy (TMOP) does.  There will be a copay when using TMOP, but it will be only one-third of your copay compared to using a retail pharmacy (one copay for a 90 day's supply versus the same copay for a 30 day's supply at a retail pharmacy).  There is also the convenience of having your medications delivered directly to your home. You may register for the Mail Order Pharmacy online at www.express-scripts.com/TRICARE or by calling 1-877-363-1301 (TDD/TTY - for the hearing impaired: 1-877-540-6261). Please call us directly if you are unsure whether a medication is carried at Naval Hospital Beaufort.
