Master Chief Edward Moreno is a native of Central California.

Chief Moreno enlisted in the Navy on 15 October 1985. He completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, IL and Aviation Boatswain's Mate "A" School in Lakehurst, NJ.

His assignments included; USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), Navy Recruiting District Raleigh, Raleigh, NC, USS FORRESTAL (AVT 59), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), Military Training Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) at Naval Training Center Great Lakes, Great Lakes, IL, Acting Command Master Chief (CMC), Air Department ALRE Leading Chief on USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67), Air Operations Leading Chief at Naval Air Station Fallon, Fallon, NV, Command Master Chief on USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57), Command Master Chief, Joint Detention Group, JOINT TASK FORCE-Guantanamo, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and more recently the Wing Command Master Chief, COMHELMARSTRIKEWINGPAC, San Diego California.

Master Chief Moreno reported to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in July 2012, where he is currently serving as Command Master Chief.

During his career, he completed seven deployments to the North Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Gulf, Western Pacific and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. While deployed, he has participated in Operation Allied Force for the liberation of Kosovo, Operation Enduring Freedom, and as the USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN CMC in support of CTF 58 while conducting Maritime Security Operation in the North Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He was forward deployed with the Navy Expeditionary Guard Battalion for detention operations supporting JOINT TASK FORCE-Guantanamo as the Joint Detention Group Command Master Chief. He was influential in developing expanded training and detailing initiatives enhancing mission readiness and the successful transition of SH-60B Seahawk to SH-60R platform while assigned as COMHELMARSTRIKEWINGPAC CMC.

Command Master Chief Moreno is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 105 Gold) and KEYSTONE Command Senior Enlisted Leader Course.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
