If you are a newly reporting Nurse Corps officer in need of a sponsor to familiarize you with the Jacksonville, NC area and your role at the hospital, please email the Staffing Coordinator for the Director of Nurses The Staffing Coordinator will be able to assign someone to assist you. 


For personnel who are here waiting for their FMSS class to convene, please direct questions to our Human Resources Dept at (910) 450-4086. Human Resources will be responsible for assisting with checking in and assigning a temporary workspace until the FMSS class begins.

MID Requirement

Due to new user requirements, all incoming staff members are required to complete IA/HIPAA training via the MHS Learn Site prior to reporting. The certificates of completion are needed before CHCS/AHLTA accounts can be established. General Checking in Information


The Camp Lejeune Joint Reception Center (JRC) is the main check-in facility for all active duty Marines checking in to Camp Lejeune and its tenant commands. The main entrance located in Bldg 59 on Molly Pitcher Road has a glass door and covered walkway.

Upon arrival, the Receptionist will check you in at the front desk. A copy of your orders and a valid active duty ID card is required.

The hours of operation for the Receptionist Desk are:
Monday - Thursday 0730-1630
Fridays 0730 - 1600
Closed weekends and holidays. During this time or after hours, ring the buzzer for the duty NCO.

The JRC consists of the offices on the left side, separated by building. Click on each section for more information.

Reporting In

Check-in is at the Receptionist Desk. The hours of operation for the Receptionist Desk are:
Monday - Thursday 0730 - 1630
Fridays - 0730 - 1600

Check - in uniform for Sailors are the Dress Whites/Blues depending upon the season. All service members must have their Original orders, SRB, Health and Dental Records, and a valid Active Duty ID card. Single or unaccompanied service members will receive billeting assignments in the squad bay. Sailors reporting for duty during working hours must go to PSD located at Bldg 321 on H street before coming to the JRC. All services members reporting in after working hours must see the duty NCO in Bldg 59 Room 213 for further instruction.

Vehicle Registration

All motorized vehicles operated aboard Camp Lejeune must be registered with the Vehicle Registration Section of the Provost Marshal's Office.

Permanent decals are not issued on weekends, holidays, or during extremely cold weather. New River Sailors and Marines need to register their vehicles at Bldg. AS-211 aboard the Air Station.

The following documents are required to obtain a temporary pass:

  1. Valid state operator’s license
  2. Valid state registration for the vehicle
  3. Proof of insurance

The following documents are required to obtain a permanent decal:

  1. Valid armed forces identification card
  2. Permanent valid state operator’s license
  3. Permanent valid state registration for the vehicle
  4. Declaration page (if vehicle is registered out of state) showing proof of the minimum motor vehicle liability insurance required by the state of North Carolina—bodily injury $30,000/$60,000 property damage $25,000
  5. Service members under 26 years of age must present evidence of having completed the defensive driver course offered here or at another Marine Corps Base
  6. Valid motor vehicle inspection sticker for vehicles registered in North Carolina

Additionally, the following information is required at all times:

  • Valid armed forces identification card
  • Permanent valid state operator’s license
  • Permanent valid vehicle registration
  • Valid insurance with drivers listed on the policy.
  • Valid motor vehicle inspection sticker for vehicles registered in North Carolina
  • Driver’s Improvement Course Card for service members under 26

Sailors and marines reporting TAD to Camp Lejeune should present a copy of their orders at Bldg. 60 Molly Pitcher Rd. to obtain a temporary pass. The pass will be issued for the length of TAD.

Motorcycle operators must meet the same requirements as automobiles. In addition, they must have in their possession an endorsed motorcycle license from their home state or from the state of North Carolina. Attendance and Certificate of Completion/Motorcycle Safety Card from a Motorcycle Safety Foundation class is mandatory for all operators, regardless of age.

Pet Registration

Dogs, cats, tropical fish, turtles, guinea pigs, white mice, gerbils and caged birds are the only pets authorized in family housing. Other pets must be specifically authorized in writing by the Commanding General, Marine Corps Base. Cats and dogs must be registered with the Base Veterinary Office (910) 450-1607.

A wide variety of dogs and cats available for adoption can be found at the animal shelter located on Parachute Tower Road. For information call 451-2695.

Pet registration at New River is coordinated at Bldg. AS-213 during normal working hours. Telephone 451-0108 for details.

Firearm Registration

All privately owned firearms on base must be registered with the Base Provost Marshal, Room #2, Bldg. 3 and Bldg. AS211 at the Air Station. Only those persons living in base housing (family quarters) may maintain their firearms in their quarters. BEQ and BOQ residents must store their weapons in a unit armory. The brand name, model number, serial number, location of, caliber, barrel length, action and proof of ownership are required for registration. For more information call 451-2455.

Temporary Lodging

There are five bachelor officer quarters located around the Camp Lejeune/New River complex: Paradise Point, Camp Geiger, MCAS New River, Courthouse Bay and Camp Johnson. For information call 451-2146 or 451-1385.

The newly renovated Hospitality Inn is available as a home away from home for those new to the area. The Inn has 90 rooms with two double beds, kitchenette, TV, VCR, cable, laundry facilities on the premises and other nice amenities like irons and coffee pots. The Inn is open 24 hours a day. Sorry, no pets allowed.

Base Housing

Applications for assignment to Marine Corps Military Housing (DD Form 1746 and CG MCIEAST Addendum) should be completed and mailed, or hand carried to the Military Housing Office as soon as a military sponsor knows of an upcoming move to this area, or within 30 calendar days of reporting for duty. The Military Housing Office is located at 43 Inchon Street, Tarawa Terrace, NC 28543. A satellite office is located at the Camp Lejeune Joint Reception Center, 60 Molly Pitcher Road, Camp Lejeune, NC 28542. These forms and information regarding advanced applications may be found at

The Military Housing Office maintains 4,327 housing units aboard Camp Lejeune and neighboring New River. Many homes have been newly constructed or renovated, and further construction and renovations are either in progress or programmed. All homes offer central air conditioning and heating.

Military sponsors must report to the Military Housing Office prior to renting, leasing or purchasing a home off base. In addition to information on military housing, the Housing Office maintains listings of available off-base rentals and sales as well as “non-approved” listings. If you desire to live off-base, the Housing Office offers the “Set-Aside Program” designed to assist you with offsetting some of the normal costs associated with housing in the civilian sector. The Housing Office also provides listings of public and private schools and local churches. A visit to the Military Housing Office could save you money.

E1 – E5 are eligible for two bedroom homes in Midway Park, three or four bedroom homes in Tarawa Terrace, and three or four bedroom homes in Watkins Village.

E6 – E9 are eligible for three or four bedroom homes in Berkeley Manor, New River and Watkins Village.

E8 - E9’s are also eligible for four bedroom homes in Knox Cove. Company grade and field grade officers are eligible for three and four bedroom homes in Paradise Point or New River.

Child Care
The Camp Lejeune Children, Youth, and Teen Programs offer affordable options to meet the needs of our military families. After registering, you have access to the following programs:

  • Full-time childcare for 6 weeks to 12 years of age
  • Hourly Care
  • Family Child Care
  • Saturday Night Care
  • Before/After School Care
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of America Programs at Youth Pavilions

Registration must be completed prior to using any of these services. Registration is taking place at Bldg. 1966, Monday-Friday, 0800-1600. Bring child’s shot record, LES/Pay Stub (only necessary if registering for full-time or part-time care), Health Assessment.

Camp Lejeune Schools

The Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools (CLDS) are operated by the Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DoD DDESS). All funding and support is provided by DoD DDESS. A locally elected School Board participates in the development of policies. CLDS policy is administered by the central office administration. There are six elementary schools, a middle school, and a senior high school. Approximately 577 full-time staff including 300 certified professional personnel are employed by the school system.
