The following labs are conducted at Hadnot Point BMC:
·         Labs that require a 12 hour fasting before the blood is drawn. (No food or drinks, except water and black coffee).
o    Lipids
o    Glucose

·         Lab work that doesn’t require fasting
o    Chem. 18-comprehensive metabolic panel
o    CBC- Complete Blood Count
o    ESR-Arthritis
o    HCT- Hematocrit
o    ABO/RH-Blood Type
o    DNA Collection
o    G6PD/SickleCell
o    Mono
o    Chem. 7-Basic Metabolic Panel
o    Electrolytes
o    RPR-Syphilis
o    HCG QL- Qualitative Serum Pregnancy Test
o    Thyroid
o    LFT- Liver Function Test
o    PSA- Prostate Specific Antigen
o    HSV 1 & 2 IGG- Herpes Simplex Virus
o    HCV AB-Hepatitis ABC Panel/Requires 2 Tubes Drawn Required If Test Is for a Needle stick
o    Lyme AB- Lyme Disease
o    TSH-Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
o    H Pylori AB
o    HIV Test

·         Collected Samples Other Than Blood
o    Urinalysis
o    HCG’s (Urine Pregnancy Test)

 Most commonly prescribed medications are available at Hadnot Point BMC. Others are available at the medical center pharmacy. Licensed pharmacists consult via telepharmacy on all medication prescribed.
Radiology

·         Patients MUST have orders in the computer to have x-rays taken.
·         Patients with weight-bearing pictures and/or orthopedic views must report to the Naval Medical Center to have x-rays preformed.
·         To receive x-ray on a disk the ordering provider must request a disk in the order. Disks will not be given to patients without a request in the order due to limited supplies.
·         Patients requiring any pictures below the chest should have PT gear with them or on under uniform, in the case that a patient is not wearing PT gear paper shorts will be provided if available. Clothing containing metal or plastic must be removed before x-rays can be taken.
·         Any patient with body piercings must remove them before x-rays are to be taken.
