| Scope of Care: |
| |
The UCC is capable of treating any acute medical illness or injury. Our patients range from neonates to geriatric, active duty, retirees, and family members.
The UCC is staffed by civilian, registered professional nurses, physicians, licensed practical nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical and clerical assistants.
Patients who arrive at the hospital with urgent care requirements are stabilized and transported to a local facility with the ability to perform more complex treatments or are supported by an Intensive Care Unit.
Both Whidbey General Hospital and Island Hospital currently have this capability. At present when an ambulance responds to a 911 call in the local area, the patient is delivered to one of these nearby facilities. |
| Other Information : |
| |
Please do not bring anyone into the hospital whom you suspect may have chicken pox, measles, or other communicable diseases. Please notify the check in desk prior to bringing in the patient. If possible, call ahead to the Urgent Care Clinic so they may prepare for the patient. |
