HMCM George A. Shelton
HMCM(SS/FMF) George “Andy” Shelton was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey. He entered the Naval Service from Boulder, CO. beginning his Navy career on 23 March 1983.
HMCM Shelton completed Basic Training and Hospital Corps School in San Diego, CA; Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton and reported to his first duty station, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD in September 1983.
Master Chief Shelton has served in many capacities during his career to include; Ward and Field Corpsman, LPO, Submarine IDC, LCPO, SEL and Force Medical Master Chief, US Submarine Forces. His permanent duty assignments include 3rd Force Service Support Group; BMC NAS Adak; Naval Reserve Center Frankfort, NY; Naval Hospital Groton, CT; USS HARTFORD(SSN768), BMC Bangor, WA; USS Henry M. Jackson(SSN730), Commander Submarine Group TRIDENT and Commander US Submarine Forces.
Master Chief Shelton is entitled to wear the silver Dolphins of an Enlisted Submarine Warfare Specialist and holds the Fleet Marine Force warfare designator. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards), Army Achievement Medal and various unit and service awards.
