Scope of Services:
Minor procedures are performed at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor.  Major surgery and endoscopy are performed at Island Hospital.  
 

Common Diagnoses Include:

  • Appendicitis
  • Hernias
  • Cancers: Breast, Colon
  • Fibrocystic Breast Disease
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Gastrointestinal disease
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Ulcer disease
  • Anal problems
  • Pilonidal cyst disease
  • Skin lumps, moles, and cancers
  • Wound care (burns, abscesses, pilonidal cysts)

Diagnostic Procedures:

  • Colonoscopy
  • Diagnostic Laparoscopy
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Esophagus and stomach endoscopies (EGD)
  • Needle aspirations (breast lumps/cysts, lymph nodes)

Common Surgical Procedures:

  • Appendectomy 
  • Breast Surgery
  • Cholecystectomy - removal of gallbladder  
  • Colon, Rectum, and Anus
  • Hernias (umbilical, ventral, incisional, inguinal)
  • Laparoscopic Surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, ventral/umbilical/incisional)
  • Skin and Muscle

Minor Surgery:

  • Biopsy of Skin Lesions
  • Removal of Skin Lesions (moles, cysts)
  • Hemorrhoid Banding
  • Incision and Drainage of Abscesses

  • One Surgeon specializing in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
