Women's Health

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and the Branch Medical Clinics provide Gynecological and Obstetrical care to all Active duty members and TRICARE Prime beneficiaries. Our standard of care is based on the latest guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Our clinics are staffed with OB/GYN doctors, Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners (NP). Naval Medical Center Portsmouth’s Women’s Health Clinic offers Obstetrics along with a variety of gynecological services and specialties. The Branch Medical Clinics including Sewell’s Point, Boone, and Dam Neck offer Obstetrics services only. The facilities are designed to meet the healthcare needs of women and their families. All Women’s Health services and specialties require a referral from you primary care physician (PCM) in order to schedule appointments. Obstetrics is a self-referral, meaning you do not have to have a PCM referral to schedule appointments.

Obstetrics represents a large portion of our services and NMCP is committed to providing you and your family emotional and educational support along the way. Whether this is your first baby or you have delivered many children, each pregnancy brings its own set of joys and challenges. Our goal is to deliver patient centered care for the healthiest pregnancy possible.
