Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program

To improve operational readiness, promote healthy lifestyles and treat problems resulting from alcohol and substance abuse. The SARP utilizes a multidisciplinary approach for the assessment and treatment of substance related problems, and to meet the individual needs of active duty personnel, family members and retirees.

NMCP Buildings 1,2 and 3

The Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP) of the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth provides screening, preventive and rehabilitative services for substance abuse/dependence. We offer IMPACT level .5 education, a 20 hour course over three days; Level I treatment; Level II Intensive Outpatient and Level III residential treatment. All of our programs meet criteria specified by local agencies such as the Virginia Safety Action Program (VASAP) and local courts.
