BE: STRESSED OUT? SWEAT IT OUT!

It’s the end of a hectic work day and even though you’d like nothing better than to head home and curl up on the couch, you’ve got a mile-long to-do list to tackle. If that weren’t enough to make you want to scream, after fighting traffic to get to the store, someone cuts you off to grab the last parking space. You need stress relief and you need it now!

WHAT'S YOUR BEST OPTION?

A) Scarf down a box of chocolates

B) Go home and drown your sorrows in a hot bath

C) Head to the spa for a pampering massage

D) Hit the gym and crank out 20 minutes on the treadmill

The answer is D (intensive chocolate therapy, unfortunately, is not recommended). And while massages and bubble baths may feel great, according to experts, the best long-term de-stressor is exercise. Along with well-known physical benefits, exercise has been shown to increase your sense of well-being, mood, self-esteem, stress response, and positive body image. It’s can also decrease depression and anxiety. So, ditch the chocolates and get your sweat on!
