DO: Coming Soon…Healthy Living Class!


Beginning this spring, the Health and Wellness Department will offer a new class called Healthy Life. Healthy Life will educate attendees on several components of healthy living. Topics covered will include modern nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, positive thinking and lasting behavior change. In this course, you will learn how to select nutritious food, choose exercise that is right for you, tips to improve your sleep at night, and how to reduce stress in your life.

All of the information in the course is evidence-based, meaning it’s based on scientific evidence and supported by clinical expertise, as well as tailored to specific patient needs.. This class is easy to comprehend, and you will learn how to integrate new, healthy behaviors into your daily life. Here is a sneak peak from the Healthy Life class.

Ten quick tips to be healthier today!

  • 1. Drink eight glasses of water daily.
  • 2. Eat five servings of vegetables and fruit each day.
  • 3. Remove junk and processed foods from your diet.
  • 4. Exercise for at least 30 minutes each day, and find a workout buddy!
  • 5. Turn your lights down and turn technology off one hour before bed.
  • 6. Keep a regular sleep, wake, and eating schedule.
  • 7. Learn breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga.
  • 8. Reduce caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol consumption at night.
  • 9. List or say three things you are grateful for each day.
  • 10. Socialize and gain support from healthy and happy people.​​​
