This must be completed with certificate in hand to gain computer access. Also please review the following link prior to your first day:
Driving and parking instructions can be found at the following link: http://www.med.navy.mil/sites/nmcsd/VisitorInfo/Pages/drivingdirections.aspx. Please contact our chief resident if you need further information.
On your first day, you will be excused from morning report to complete the following check-in steps:
@ 0600 - Report to the inpatient pediatrics ward (bldg 1, 2nd floor, 2East wing). Check in at the front desk and ask for the senior resident. Take this time to meet your team and get to know your patients.
@ 0730 - Proceed to the GME office (bldg 6, 4th floor) to get your ID Badge request and computer SAAR form. GME will direct you from here to complete the following tasks below:
1) ID badge - Proceed to Bldg 26. You will have to walk back towards the ED (bldg 1), follow walkway (across from visitor parking structure) until you get to the stop sign at bottom of the hill. Enter building to your right. Bring your driver's license with you.
2) SAAR form signature - Proceed to Security office, bldg 1, (glass structure across from hospital cafeteria). They will sign your SAAR form there.
3) Network access - Proceed to building 2 ground floor. Be sure to have your SAAR form and your online training certificate with you. Take the first door on your right off the elevator/stairs, go straight down the hallway following ITMD signs. Check in with ITMD and let them know that you need network access for less than 28 days.
4) ESSENTRIS (Inpatient EMR) access: Proceed to Bldg 1, 5th floor. Take a right off the elevators, take the hallway to 5W; BEFORE you reach 5W, there is a ceiling sign "Clinical Information Systems". The door to the left is the ESSENTRIS office. The CIS manager will provide you with your EMR access.
Congrats - you have completed your check-in! You may now return to your work area.
Please feel free to contact our chief resident at any time if you have issues or questions. The chief resident's office is in the general pediatrics clinic area and is at morning report daily. Again welcome to our program. I hope your month with us is enjoyable!
