Primary care is provided at NMCSD for both healthy children and those with complex medical needs. Tricare Prime children can be enrolled in our clinics by visiting a Tricare office or at https://www.tricareonline.com. With our medical home model, children are assigned to a provider on one of 3 teams: Green, Gold or Resident Continuity Clinic. Each team has several pediatricians, 1-2 pediatric nurse practitioners, a nurse, and additional support staff. The nurses are available to provide advice and assist with any questions during business hours. Routine phone messages can also be left for providers and will be answered within 72 hours (please let the Call Center know if the situation requires a quicker response).
Hours: Monday-Friday 0800-1600, Weekends/Holidays 0800-1600; Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day Location: Building 2, 1st Floor
To schedule appointments, you can call the call center at (619) 532-8225 or going to NMCSD online/RelayHealth if already enrolled. For enrollment, you can visit the child's primary clinic or by clicking here.
Urgent After-Hours Questions
Please check the Information on Specific Medical Topics link as it answers many common questions. For concerns that are not answered on that page and cannot wait until morning, parents of children enrolled to one of our primary pediatric clinics may call (800) 874-2273, option 1. He / she can give medical advice, but is not able to arrange appointments for the following day or enter prescriptions.
You can request a refill on-line by clicking here. Make sure to save the bottle or packaging containing the label as it has the prescription number. If the prescription has expired or there are no refills remaining, please call the Call Center at (619) 532-8225 and ask to speak to a nurse to determine if the prescription can be renewed over the phone, or if an appointment is required.
School physicals do not require an appointment if your child has had a well child visit within the past year. Please call the Call Center and leave a message for your clinic team’s nurse to request the paperwork from that visit.
