WHAT IS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT/CORPSMAN?

A Medical Assistant (MA) is part of your care team and works closely with your Primary Care Manager (PCM) to perform routine tasks and procedures such as measuring your vital signs, administering medications and injections, recording your information in medical recordkeeping systems, preparing and handling medical instruments and supplies, and collecting samples for laboratory testing.

Your MA might also help with administrative duties, including answering your questions over the phone, greeting you when you arrive at the clinic, updating and filing your medical records, helping you fill out insurance forms, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and calling you for follow-up procedures or appointment reminders.
