WHAT IS SOCIAL WORK?

A Social Worker is an active member of your care team who will help you improve you and your family’s welfare. Your Social Worker collaboratively works with, medical, nursing and other ancillary staff to maintain a team approach ensuring you and your family receive the support and care you need.

Your Social Worker may also counsel you or a family member who is about to deploy, offer crisis intervention if you have undergone a traumatic experience, and lead workshops on a variety of topics, like transitioning from deployment to everyday life.
