Adaptive sports are for patients with transient and permanent injuries that begin with recreational participation and can lead to local, national, and even international competition.
This treatment-based activity provides participants opportunities to meet new people and decrease isolation, depression, stress, and anxiety.
Outrigger Canoe/Standup Paddleboard
Strengthen your core, increase upper and lower extremity strength, and enhance vestibular training all while enjoying a day on the bay.
This personalized swim workout will help participants improve endurance, learn and perfect the four Olympic strokes, and improve aerobic and an-aerobic capacity.
Learn how surfing can be a tool for therapy. Surfing strengthens all muscle groups, improves endurance, increases balance and stability, and integrates participants to the community. Participating in the California surfing community can help rediscover the joy of life.
Learn to play tennis while getting to meet and socialize with new people. This program helps decrease isolation, stress, and anxiety.
Participants can learn or reconnect with golf and gain socialization skills necessary to successfully participate in community based-activities while having fun on the green.
This two-hour program, for participants with a physical injury, offers the opportunity to increase strength, endurance, and wheelchair maneuverability through drills, scrimmage games, and competitive tournaments.
