NAVY MEDICINE EDUCATION AND TRAINING 
CAPABILITIES INTEGRATION  
Provide program management, integration and execution of medical capabilities
across the spectrum of Navy Medicine doctrine, organization, training, materiel,
leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF). Provide
capability development synchronization support to include alignment with various
strategic goals (e.g., Chief of Naval Operations and BUMED). Acts as command
representative at appropriate forums to indentify and coordinate USN/USMC
interest actions with other services and agencies.

Services:
  • Provide Navy Medicine capability development synchronization support to include assessments of various strategic plans, review of related concept of operations, and related programs. Recommends appropriate changes as required.
  • Establish and maintain a NAVMED capability development strategic plan in support of BUMED Strategic Goals.
  • Assess the future war fighting environment to establish a clear understanding of the requirements of the Navy/Marine Corps/Joint medical community. 
  • Maintain a knowledge base on the Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS), identify appropriate Capabilities Based Assessment (CBA) and coordinate the management of related documents from creation to implementation.

  • Employs JCIDS analysis with Functional Area Analysis (FAA), Functional Needs Analysis (FNA), Joint Capability document (JCD) and Functional Solutions Analysis (FSA) methodology to understand "as is" and "to be" future capabilities; identify Navy/Marine Corps Health Protection gaps, redundancies, shortfalls, and develop recommendations.
  • Review Force Health Protection (FHP) and Health Service Support (HSS) requirements and build listings of required medical capabilities for potential review. Liaison with medical research activities to maintain listing of current projects that have potential USN/USMC medical interest.
