Aviation Medicine

Location: Navy Medicine Operational Training Center, Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL and Branch Medical Clinic, Naval Air Station Whiting Field, FL Description: Students work side by side with local squadron flight surgeons participating in clinical and squadron activities. Students gain experience in evaluating and treating patients with common aeromedical disorders as well as in daily squadron aeromedical responsibilities. Actual flying experience is available for motivated, physically qualified students.

Open to: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year US and Canadian M.D. and D.O. students and resident physicians. Active or reserve military officers only.

Aviation Medicine Physical Examinations

Description: Students work side by side with Navy flight surgeons is one of the busiest examining and their impact on aeromedical safety are emphasized. Navy physical standards and the unique physiology of the flight environments are highlighted.

Aerospace Psychiatry

Repatriated Prisoner of War Study

Description: The Repatriated Prisoner of War Study is a longitudinal study of Vietnam-era prisoners of war and a matched aviation control group.
