If you require specialty care that is not available inside the clinic, your provider may refer you to the civilian community to seek that care. Once your provider enters the referral, it is forwarded to HUMANA for an authorization. Once HUMANA has authorized the care, the completed authorization will be mailed to you in approximately seven to ten business days. 

You also have the option of registering online at www.humana-military.com so that you can view your authorization online or you can call 1-800-444-5445 for assistance.

Please remember that authorizations are provided for a specific number of visits during a specific time frame. Please be aware of the dates authorized and the number of visits authorized to avoid any billing issues.
