Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Shani K. Henry is currently serving as the Officer in Charge, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Naval Air Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida. She assumed charge of the clinic on 1 April 2016.
 
LCDR Henry has 26 years of honorable Active Duty Service. She is a native of Iota, Louisiana.  She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science, Health Care Management, and Phoenix University with a Masters of Management, Human Resources Management.  She has been member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2003.
 
LCDR Henry enlisted in the Navy in 1991.  She attended Recruit Training in Orlando, Florida, and Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, Illinois. Over her 13 years of enlisted service she advanced to the rank of Hospital Corpsman First Class.
 
In 1991, she reported to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune where she worked as Senior Corpsman for the Neonatal Newborn Nursery.  In 1993, she transferred to Naval Hospital Naples and worked in Operating Management Department as the mailroom Leading Petty Officer.  In 1995, she transferred to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia and served as the Leading Petty Officer for the Clinical Investigations and Internal Medicine Departments.  In 2000, she reported to Field Medical Service School, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and graduated as the Honor Graduate.  Upon graduation she was assigned to 2D FSSG, 2nd MED BN, Charlie Company and served as the Leading Petty Officer for the Administration Department and Personnel Support Detachment for H&S BN where she earned her Fleet Marine Force Warfare Device.  She deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom with 1st Mar Div to Ar Ramadi, Al Anwar Province.  Lieutenant Commander Henry earned her commission in the Medical Service Corps in December 2004 through the Medical Service Corps-Inservice Procurement Program. 
 
In 2004, LCDR Henry reported to Naval Hospital Guam and served as Human Resources Department, Department Head, Operating Management Department Head, Plans Operations and Medical Intelligence Officer, Security Officer/Anti-Terrorism Officer.  In 2008, she transferred to Naval Operational Medicine Institute and served as Administration, Department Head, Command Managed Equal Opportunity Officer and Diversity Officer.  She deployed on the USNS COMFORT (T-AH-20) as the Patient Administration Officer in support of Continuing Promise 09.  In 2011, she transferred to the USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) and served as Medical Administrative Officer, the Principal Assistant, MEDEVAC Coordinator, Readiness Coordinator and earned her Surface Warfare Medical Department Officer Device.  In 2013, she transferred to Naval Hospital Pensacola and served as Associate Director for Administration, Human Resources Department Head and the Plans Operations and Medical Intelligence Officer.
 
LCDR Henry’s Awards and decorations include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4) and various unit and campaign awards.
