KENNETH L. FULSON Sr.

Master Chief Fulson is a native of Kansas City, Ks. A graduate of Wyandotte High School in 1987, he enlisted in the United Stated Navy through the Delayed Entry Program, December 1987. He completed Basic Training at Recruit Training Center San Diego, CA in March 1988.
Following Recruit Training, he completed Hospital Corps ‘A’ School at the Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego, CA. After completing ‘A’ School, he reported to his first permanent duty station at Naval Hospital Millington, TN. In 1989, he graduated from Basic X-ray School, Naval School of Health Sciences in Oakland, California where he was promoted to Hospital Corpsman Third Class. He then reported aboard the USS SIERRA (AD-18) in Charleston, S.C. After a successful 2 years aboard SIERRA, in 1991 he reported aboard USS HOLLAND (AS-32) in Charleston, S.C./Guam. There he was promoted to the rank of Hospital Corpsman Second Class.
In 1993, he attended Advanced Radiological Technician ‘C’ School at the Naval School of Health Sciences, Portsmouth, Virginia. After graduating, he reported to Naval Branch Clinic, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, GA, where he served as the Leading Petty Officer Radiology Department and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Hospital Corpsman First Class. There he would be selected Sailor of the Year. In 1999, he reported aboard the Amphibious Assault Ship USS SAIPAN (LHA 2) as Department Leading Petty Officer and X-ray technician. There he would be selected SAIPAN Sailor of the Year and promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. In 2002, he reported to Naval School of Health Sciences Portsmouth,VA where he served Command Career Counselor and Senior Enlisted Leader for Administration Department. There he was selected to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. In April 2006, he reported as Health Services Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard the Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69). During this tour he would be selected to his current rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
In 2008, Master Chief Fulson reported to the U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he served as Command Master Chief. In 2010, Master Chief Fulson was selected to serve as FORCE Hospital Corpsman for the entire U.S. Navy East Coast Carrier Fleet aboard Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic. Master Chief Fulson reported to his current position as Command Master Chief, USNS COMFORT (T-AH 20) in May 2014.
Master Chief Fulson’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 Awards) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Four Awards) and various unit and service awards.
Master Chief Fulson is a graduate of the U.S Navy Command Master Chief/COB course and the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 124 Gold). Additionally, he is a member of the American Registry of Radiological Technologist and the American Society of Radiological Technologist. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Excelsior University of New York. He is the proud father of a 26 year old daughter D. Fulson and a 24 year old son, Hospital Corpsman Second Class Kenneth Fulson II.
