San Diego, Calif. (Nov. 28, 2023)  Capt. Elizabeth Adriano, Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) director, recognizes Enrico Sarmiento, NMCSD’s Public Health Department physician assistant with the Defense Health Agency’s Length Of Service (LOS) Award for his 35 years of federal service milestone.  During the ceremony 15 additional civilian staff members were also recognized for their respective 20-40 years of federal service.  The mission of NMCSD is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality health care services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active-duty military personnel, civilians and contractors in southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
