Jacksonville, FL - Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) fellow, Dr. Lorrie Bowman, and Biochemist Capt. Charles Hart, at the Defense Centers for Public Health-Aberdeen (DCPH-A) Vector Borne Disease (VBD) Branch conducted insect DNA studies under the direction of Dr. Jason Blanton of the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence (NECE) Research and Development Department, April 3, 2024, at the Navy Entomology Center of Excellence, Jacksonville, Florida. DCPH-A and NECE personnel joined forces in a collaborative effort to enhance genomic expertise across agencies to help combat vector-borne disease transmission for service members around the globe.
