Students at Field Medical Training Battalion – West conduct physical training utilizing a new PT playbook designed by Lt. Cmdr. Yui Wong and Navy Lt. Erin Wippermann, physical therapists from Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. As a result of the new program, the students have a 100% pass rate of all physical training requirements combined with nearly a 90% decrease in training related musculoskeletal injuries. FMTB-West is the Navy Enlisted Classification code – producing school for the Navy and Marine Corps on the west coast and provides ready and trained Field Medical Service Technicians to the Marine Corps, Navy Expeditionary Forces, Naval Construction Battalions, and throughout the Navy fleet.
