Dr. R.G. Dickinson, PhD.

Dr. Dickinson is the Chief of Staff of the Naval Medical Forces Support Command, an Echelon 3 regional headquarters, shore-based activity with responsibility to provide ready medical capabilities to protect, prepare, and train shore-based and operating forces for the full range of global military activities. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operation, performance of duty, readiness and direct administration and operations of the headquarters staff.

Dr. Dickinson is originally from Maine and was commissioned into the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps in 1987. During his military career, he served in a variety of leadership and staff positions, culminating as Director, Talent Management for the Army Medicine enterprise. Upon his retirement as a Colonel in early 2015, he joined the Army Civil Service as the Medical Corps (military and civilian physicians) personnel proponent at the Army Medical Department Personnel Proponent Directorate. He then joined the Air Force Civil Service in August 2016 where he served as the Medical Civilian Career Field Team Chief. In this position, he created the Air Force’s initial medical civilian human capital strategy. Subsequently, he returned to the Army as a Branch Chief in the Army Enterprise Office for Career Program-53 (Medical Civilians) where he created several important programs, most noteworthy was the creation and implementation of the only strategic workforce assessment methodology for civilian employees across the entire Army, regardless of specialty or career program.

Dr. Dickinson is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College and he holds a Doctorate degree in Human Resources and Talent Management.
