Seasonal Flu Vaccine

Please review the availability chart above before coming to the clinic for flu vaccinations. Please review the Flu Vaccine Information Sheet prior to comng in for the flu vaccine.

ALL Tricare eligible enrollees at NHC Annapolis and Tricare for Life patients may get their flu vaccine at the clinic. Flu vaccinations are also available at Tricare Pharmacies as noted below. Please note that we are encouraging the use of Tricare Pharmacies to receive your flu vaccine.

The FluMist will not be available this year.

Flu vaccines are available on Monday - Thursday from 1230 to 1530 with no appointments necessary.  Please look at vaccine availability chart and read all the information to determine if you will be able to get your flu vaccine.


Patients with severe egg allergies (ie difficulty breathing, distress) will need to go to Allergy Clinic at WRNMMC for their flu vaccine.

Please contact your Primary Care Provider for the consult. Patients with mild egg allergies (ie hives and/or able to eat egg products) may get the vaccine at this clinic.

IMPORTANT NOTICES


Active Duty

ALL Active Duty may get their flu vaccine at the clinic. Flu vaccinations are also available at Tricare pharmacies as noted below.

Flu vaccines are available on weekdays all day for Active Duty only from 0730 to 1130 and 1230 to 1530 with no appointments necessary. Please review the flu availability chart and fill out consent form prior to coming to clinic: NHC Annapolis Flu Consent Form.

Patients with severe egg allergies (i.e. difficulty breathing, distress) will need to go to Allergy Clinic at WRNMMC for their flu vaccine. Please contact your Primary Care Provider for the consult. Patients with mild egg allergies (i.e. hives and/or able to eat egg products) may get the vaccine at this clinic.

Flu vaccines can be provided by any TRICARE-authorized provider or through one of the network pharmacies that participates in the vaccination program at no cost. To find a participating pharmacy near you, visit http://www.express-scripts.com/TRICARE/pharmacy/ or call 1-877-363-1303. If you are being charged for the vaccine, please have the pharmacist contact Express Script at the number listed.

If Active Duty members attain the flu vaccine from non-military sources, they must bring a copy or fax (410-293-3264) a copy of the paperwork to the immunization clinic so the vaccine can be entered into their military immunization records. Failure to bring in the records may require the Active Duty member to get a repeat administration of the vaccine.

 

ALL Tricare eligible enrollees and Tricare for Life Patients (dependents and retirees)

ALL Tricare eligible enrollees at NHC Annapolis and Tricare for Life patients may get their flu vaccine at the clinic. Flu vaccinations are also available at Tricare pharmacies as noted below. We are strongly encouraging our beneficiaries to use the NETWORK TRICARE PHARMACY PROGRAM.

Students (K-5th) enrolled in Anne Arundel School District will be able to get flu vaccine in the school thru planned flu drives.

Patient enrolled to Johns Hopkins Uniformed Service Plan will need to see their primary care provider for vaccines.

Johns Hopkins Uniformed Service Plan

Patient enrolled to Johns Hopkins Uniformed Service Plan will need to see their primary care provider for vaccines through the Johns Hopkins Program.


DOD Civilians and Contractors

DOD Civilians and Contractors at the US Naval Academy and Naval Station Annapolis can receive the flu vaccine at the clinic starting December 20. Please bring the completed NHC Annapolis Flu Consent Form and DD2569 on Monday - Thursday from 12:30 to 15:30 to receive your flu vaccine.

DOD Civilians and Contractors are encouraged to use their private insurance program to receive vaccines. Most federal employee plans cover the flu vaccines. Please contact your health plan for further information.
