Shay S. Razmi

Dental Corps, United States Navy


          Captain Razmi was commissioned as an Ensign under the Health Professions Scholarship Program in 1997. She entered the Navy Dental Corps as a commissioned Lieutenant in 1998. After graduation from dental school and Officer Indoctrination School at Newport, RI,

     Captain Razmi’s assignments include a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Naval Dental Center Great Lakes, IL; August 2001, 1st Dental Battalion, Naval Dental Center Camp Pendleton, CA; January 2009, Deployed with USS Nashville, LPD 13 as Dental Department Head in support of Maritime Security Mission to Africa; August 2010, Naval Medical Center San Diego as the Division officer for General Dentistry, Oral Diagnosis as well as the Fleet Liaison officer where she oversaw the daily operation and dental readiness of the Sailors and Marines assigned to the clinic as well as 33 small ships ensuring Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet is mission capable for Operational Deployment; January 2011, Department Head at Naval Base San Diego and led the Navy’s largest Dental Facility, as well as Southwest Regional Maintenance Center; January 2013, Department Head, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and its annex Branch Medical clinic Rancho Bernardo at Naval Medical Center San Diego; May 2014, Director for Dental Services and Senior Dental Executive for Branch Clinics Naval Medical Center San Diego; June 2018, Executive Officer for 1st Dental Battalion, Naval Dental Center, Camp Pendleton, CA.

     Captain Razmi transferred to Navy Medicine Forces Pacific in August 2020 as the region’s high reliability officer for NMRTCs, subordinate NMRTUs, R&D commands & assigned operational platforms within M5.

Captain Razmi holds a Masters of Business Administrative with an additional concentration in Strategic Leadership.  She has completed a one year Health Care Leadership Academy (HLA) at the University of California San Diego. She is a member of American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. CAPT Razmi’s personal decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (2 Gold star), The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 Gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps achievement Medal (2 Gold Stars), Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation with a bronze star. She is a qualified Surface Warfare Medical Officer and Fleet Marine Force qualified Officer.
