 Local Education

Eighteen separate independent school districts serve the Corpus Christi MSA. The majority of the children attend schools in the Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD). CCSID has eight high schools, twelve junior high schools, thirty-seven elementary schools and three alternative education centers. Naval JRTOC is offered at all high schools.

The public school curriculum includes ULTRA special programs for superior students, and provides special facilities for physically handicapped and learning impaired students.  Corpus Christi State School provides special services to over 800 people through in-house and outreach programs.
