New Year, New You:  Tobacco-Free Living and the new Hawaii State Law

In Hawaii, the minimum age to purchase, possess, or consume a tobacco product is 21 years of age.  It is also illegal to sell or furnish a tobacco product in any shape or form to anyone under 21.

Tobacco cessation is a priority of the Department of the Navy, critical to the health, fitness, wellbeing, and readiness of Navy-Marine Corps personnel.

For information on tobacco cessation resources call NHC Hawaii's Health Promotion Department at 471-2280. The Health Promotion Department offers tobacco cessation programs to all eligible beneficiaries. The program consists of a combination of medication (patches and gum) and educational support.  This combination is proven to help users quit tobacco at a higher success rate.  Help is just a phone call away.Tips to Help You Quit
