​Master Chief Cummings reported on board United States Naval Hospital, Rota in June 2017.

Master Chief Cummings hails from Las Vegas, Nevada.  He enlisted in the Navy in January 1991 and received initial training at Recruit Training Center, San Diego, California.

He graduated from Hospital Corpsman “A” School in June 1991 from San Diego, California and Surgical Technician School in January 1992 from Bethesda, Maryland.  He was Honor Graduate, Preventive Medicine Technician School, in August 1996 and in July 2005 he graduated from Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman (SFIDC) School, with honors. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management from Touro University International in 2008.

Master Chief Cummings has completed afloat tours onboard USS MOUNT VERNON (LSD 39) as the ship’s Preventive Medicine Technician and onboard USS LABOON (DDG 58) and USS GONZALES (DDG 66) as the Senior Medical Department Representative (SMDR).  His shore tours include Naval Medical Center San Diego, North Island Branch Medical Clinic, and Naval Hospital Great Lakes.  Master Chief Cummings Headquarters tours include Commander United States Second Fleet as the Second Fleet IDC, Commander Naval Surface Forces Atlantic, and Commander United States Fleet Forces as the Fleet Medical Master Chief.  

Master Chief Cummings is a qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and his awards include: Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 3 gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 4 gold stars, as well as multiple unit and campaign awards.
