Women's Health Clinic

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) and the branch clinics (Sewell’s Point, Boone, and Dam Neck) provide gynecological and obstetrical care to all active duty members and TRICARE PRIME beneficiaries. In addition to OBGYN services, NMCP also offers sub-specialty services which include: urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, maternal fetal medicine and a fetal assessment center. All of our facilities are designed to meet the healthcare needs of women and their families and use the latest guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to guide our standards of care. **Specialty services DO require a referral from you primary care physician (PCM) in order to schedule appointments.

Think you’re pregnant??

NMCP is committed to providing you and your family with emotional and educational support as you move along your pregnancy journey. Whether or not this is your first baby, each pregnancy and labor can bring its own set of joys and challenges. Our clinics are staffed with registered nurses, OB/GYN doctors, Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners (WHNP) who are ready to answer your questions and deliver patient-centered care to help you have the healthiest pregnancy possible.

If an active duty or beneficiary female believes she is pregnant, obstetrical care can start without a PCM referral. Patients will need to obtain and complete a New OB Intake Packet to initiate their care for the pregnancy. You have the option to either print one HERE or pick one up in person from one of the four clinics.

Completed forms can be submitted in person or by fax to 757-953-4947. Sewell’s Point Clinic patients should note that their clinic only allows completed forms to be walked-in on Mondays and Thursdays from 8-12pm.

For individuals who desire to email their packets, please send your completed forms to:
usn.hampton-roads.navhospporsva.list.nmcp-womenshealthclinicteam@mail.mil

**Please note that Boone Clinic patients should submit their forms to an alternate email address:
usn.hampton-roads.navhospporsva.list.bhcboone-obgyn@mail.mil

Once submitted, a registered nurse from the clinic will contact you via phone, within three business days, to review the information and schedule your first appointment. **Please note that first appointments are scheduled between 10 and 13 weeks gestational age unless an earlier appointment is indicated, per the provider.

Additional Information

Patients interested in more information regarding their pregnancy, can request a FREE copy of the book, Pregnancy and Childbirth: A Goal Oriented Guide to Prenatal Care. Just ask for “the purple book” at any of our four OB clinics.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us, during our normal business hours, at 757-953-0392.

*Boone OB Clinic does not provide gynecologic care; this is handled in primary care.*
