Patient & Family Resource Center

Collection & Services

The Patient and Family Resource Center (PFRC) offers patients and their families access to quality health information from authoritative sources, so they can better participate in their health care and make informed health decisions. Patients and families are welcome in the Library, on the 4th floor of Bldg.1, weekdays from 0730-1630.

The PFRC offers print resources, including consumer health books and medical encyclopedias. Search the Library Catalog to see what is available. Register at the circulation desk to check out up to three books for a two-week period.

Reference service is also available. If you can't find the information you need, ask a librarian by visiting the library, calling 953-5383/953-5384, or sending an email.

Computers

Patients and family members can keep in touch with family and friends by using the Library's wireless computers to check and send emails.

Finding Good Health Information for the Health Consumer and Patient can be challenging. The Medical Library Association (MLA) offers some assistance to help you get started.
