The Developmental Behavioral Pediatric Clinic at Naval Medical Center San Diego is a diagnostic unit serving children with suspected developmental conditions. Upon consultation by your primary care provider, the staff of our clinic will coordinate a specialty care evaluation regarding your concerns about your child. Our evaluation staff includes providers in nursing, social work, child psychology, speech pathology, physical therapy and developmental behavioral pediatrics.
Diagnostic and treatment services for developmental and school performance concerns are available and may include High Risk Infant Follow Up, complex Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Language Disorders, Developmental Delays, Motor Skills Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disorders among others.
Once your primary care provider has submitted a consult, the clinic staff will seek additional information from you regarding your concerns so that we may determine which of our clinic staff should be involved in your child's assessment. This could mean more than one visit is needed to complete the evaluation. Depending upon your concerns your visit with us could be as long as two hours. In addition to diagnostic services, our clinic staff will assist you in identifying services in the community and other information that you may need.
Often requested or needed information for children with suspected developmental or behavioral conditions may be available from the following information sources:
