A Health Educator (HE) is a Registered Nurse and a member of your primary care team who specializes in promoting healthy lifestyles through health education programs and classes. HEs provide a broad range of health information, including environmental, physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health.

HEs can teach you how to make good health decisions, incorporate healthy activities into your life and avoid harmful behaviors. HEs can also help you find healthy ways to manage situations of extreme stress, anxiety, depression or other emotional disturbances.

Where do I meet with the Health Educator?

Right here in primary care!

How long is the wait to see the HE?

HEs are available for same day and walk-in appointments. HEs have flexible availability to meet your scheduling needs!

I’m busy. How long are HE appointments?

Appointments are 30-90 minutes, depending on whether a patient is attending a class or one-on-one visit.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can work with the HE?

No, you can attend as many classes as you'd like. However, the HE may refer you to another member of the care team if they feel it would benefit you.

Getting to the clinic is a hassle. What can be done to make seeing the HE easier for me?
