Flu Vaccine Information

Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River is able to provide vaccinations to the following:

Active Duty Personnel (vaccination is mandatory)

The Preventive Medicine Department is standing up a Flu Clinic located to the left as you walk through the main entrance of the clinic. The vaccine is available Monday – Friday 0800-1530. Look for the “Specialty Clinic” sign at the front desk.

Eligible Beneficiaries

Vaccinations are available for all eligible beneficiaries’ at the Immunization Clinic. The hours are 0730-1600 daily Monday through Friday (except holidays). It is recommended to keep patients 10-15 min after vaccination so we will not be able to vaccinate walk-ins after 1600.

TRICARE beneficiaries enrolled “in town” can request influenza vaccination from their Primary Care Provider. NOTE: Active duty personnel who receive the vaccination “in-town” must supply proof of vaccination to their MTF and their Command within 24 hours of receiving the vaccination. Information must include Patient Identification, date the vaccine was given, vaccine name or code, Manufacturer, and Lot number.

TRICARE beneficiaries can also receive the seasonal Influenza vaccine from a TRICARE retail network pharmacy at no cost (no PCM referral required). It is highly recommended to call the retail pharmacy for more information on vaccine availability for specific age groups. Local civilian Pax River pharmacies have indicated they have the vaccine available to people age 9 yrs. and older.

DOD Civilian Employees

We recommend using your Federal Health Benefit Coverage (FEHB Coverage) at many local pharmacies. If you are required to have a flu Vaccination for your current position (by position description) then please report to NHCPR Flu Clinic for vaccination.
