      Cdr. Venancio Maysonet, MSC

CDR Venancio Maysonet is a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in Sept 1986 as a Hospital Corpsman and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
CDR Maysonet was commissioned under the In-Service Procurement Program in 2001 and attended Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, RI in Feb 2002.  From 2002 to 2005,   he served as Acting Director for Administration, Admin Officer and Facilities Manager at Naval Dental Center Gulf Coast, Pensacola, FL.  In 2004, he earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from National University in San Diego, CA.  From 2005 to 2008, he served as the Business Manager for the Directorate for Surgical Services and Department Head for Human Resources at U. S. Naval Hospital Naples, Italy. He then transferred to Officer Recruiting School in Pensacola, FL in 2008 and was subsequently assigned from 2008 to 2011 as a Medical Recruiter and Department Head for Officer Programs at NRD San Antonio, TX.  From 2011 to 2014, he served as the Acting Director for Administration, Head, Patient Administration Department, and Deputy Director for Branch Clinics at Naval Health Clinic Quantico, VA.  In 2013, he was deployed for eight months to Role III Combat Health Support Trauma Hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan as Patient Admin Officer and Tactical Operations Center Officer.  In 2014, he reported to his current assignment as Head, Training and Exercises, Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and was hand-selected by M3 Leadership to serve as the Metrics Lead, Service Treatment Records Program Management Office. 
His military education includes Navy Instructor School, Plans Operations & Medical Intelligence Course, Basic Officer Indoctrination School, Facilities Management Course, Clinic Management Course, Medical Regulating, and Patient Administration School.  Additionally,  he has completed Executive Medicine, Individual Navy Operations, Reserve Liaison, and Managed Care Coordinator  AQDs. 
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6th award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4th award), Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation (3rd award), Navy Good Conduct Medal (4th award), National Defense Medal (2nd award),  Armed  Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign  Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NATO Medal, and other numerous awards.
