Lieutenant Commander Fix hails from Boxford, Massachusetts. In 2004, she graduated from St. Lawrence University where she majored in Neuroscience with a minor in German. In 2010, she earned a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD) at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine as a Health Professionals Scholarship Program recipient. Upon graduation, she completed post-graduate studies as an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Resident at the Naval Hospital Portsmouth, NAVSTA Norfolk Branch Health Clinic – Sewell’s Point.
Fix served as the Dental Department Head onboard the USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) for 24 months. During her tour, she deployed in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn/Unified Protector, Spanish Phiblex, Black Sea Ops, Gulf of Aden/Horn of Africa International Counter Piracy Task Force and many other operations.
After serving as Staff Dental Officer at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Naval Branch Health Clinic Mayport, she completed three years of Periodontics Residency training at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. She served as Chief Resident and earned a Certificate in Periodontics and a Master's Degree in Oral Biology from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Upon graduation, she reported to the Naval Hospital Pensacola, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Naval Air Station Pensacola as the Staff Periodontist. Fix is currently serving as the Officer in Charge, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Naval Air Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida. She assumed charge of the clinic on 28 August 2019.
Fix is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is Board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. Her personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with one gold star and other unit awards. She has also earned the Surface Warfare Medical Department Officer (SWMDO) designation.
