Captain David Webster, MC
Commanding Officer, Naval Hospital, Florida

Capt. Webster hails from Beaver, Pennsylvania.  He attended Gannon University and Hahnemann University School of Medicine.  In 1997 he reported to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth for internship.  He then was selected for the Aerospace Medicine Residency, earning a Master’s in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health before completing the remainder of the residency at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Florida.  He later completed a residency in Family Medicine at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, serving as chief resident his final year.
 
Webster has served in military treatment facility assignments to include Naval Medical Center Portsmouth; Naval Hospital Jacksonville; Naval Health Clinic Kings Bay, Georgia as Department Head of Community Health; and Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as Director of Branch Clinics and Operational Forces Medical Liaison Officer.  In this capacity he oversaw delivery of care at nine branch health clinics and served as liaison between NHCL and II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Special Operations Command, Marine Corps Installations-East, and numerous other tenant commands.
 
Staff positions include Naval Aerospace Medical Institute as Department Head of Code 26 Physical Examinations and Aerospace Medicine residency faculty member; Operational Medicine Detailer at Navy Personnel Command where he was responsible for 700 billets of various medical specialties; and the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery as Director of BUMED M91 Warrior Lifecycle Management and Navy Medicine’s Program Manager for the DoD/VA Integrated Disability Evaluation System.
 
Webster has had operational assignments as a Marine Corps Air Station Medical Officer, Squadron Flight Surgeon and Group Surgeon for Marine Aircraft Group 39 at Camp Pendleton, California; Senior Medical Officer of CVN 76 USS Ronald Reagan; and Wing Surgeon, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, North Carolina.  He has deployed in support of both Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  He is a designated Naval Flight Surgeon, Surface Warfare Medical Department Officer, and Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer.
 
His previous duty station was as Executive Officer of US Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy.
