Executive Medical Department Enlisted Course
 The  Executive Medical Department Enlisted Course (EMDEC) provides Senior Enlisted Leaders with an in-depth overview of Navy Medicine's executive management skill programs, products, services, education, and expanded professional leadership. The course will enhance Senior Enlisted Leader's performance and knowledge required to make the right decisions and plans toward a joint, integrated, premier system of health, supporting those who serve in the defense of our country. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of military medicine through our Senior Enlisted Leaders.   
Course Overview
·         Classes/year: 6
·         Seats available: 36 per class, 216 per year
Eligibility
Senior Enlisted Leaders paygrade E-7 to E-9 in the Armed Forces who are currently in support of Navy Medicine, the Defense Health Agency and Enhanced Multi-Service Markets:
 
§  2 years left on active duty. Requests for waivers will be closely reviewed.
§  Within Physical Fitness standards.
Must have an active Govt. Travel Charge Card and Defense Travel System (DTS) account.
Prerequisites:
Applicants must complete Advance Medical Department Enlisted Course (AMDEC) and the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME from Joint Forces Staff College) or the (E7 - E9) PPME via Navy E-learning as the first requirement to be eligible for the EMDEC.  
 
ALL prerequisites must be completed one week prior to course convene date, NO exceptions.
Note*: If the SEL is from another service, we will provide them access to NKO as guests. 
 
Prerequisite course registration instructions are below: 
 
1.    Advanced Medical Department Enlisted Course (AMDEC):
    1.     Navigate to Navy E-Learning [https://learning.nel.navy.mil]
    2.     DOD Notice – click on "I Agree"
    3.     DOD Notice – click on "Login With CAC Card"
    4.     Select tab "Course Catalog"
    5.     Under Learning Category – Select:  Department of the Navy (DON) Training, then Navy Medical Education and Training, thereafter "Advanced Medical Department Enlisted Course"
    6.     Scroll down to see AMDEC Units 1, 2 & 3
    7.     Select ENROLL for each unit and add to Learning Plan
    8.     Return to My Learning tab and LAUNCH course
 
A.  SEJPME-US001, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education:                                                      
    1. Log on to https://jkodirect.jten.mil
   
    2. Select "Course Catalog"
   
    3. Type "SEJPME" in the open field above the TITLE column.  Click "SEARCH".
Locate "SEJPME-US001, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME) I Course - (40 hrs.)"
   
    4. Select the purple "Enroll" button and follow the confirmation prompts.
   
    5. "Launch" the course.
 
OR 
B. Primary Professional Military Education (Enlisted) E7-E9:
    1.   Log onto NKO
    2.  Navigate to Navy E-Learning [now NETC Learning Management System]
    3.  DOD Notice – click on "I Agree"
    4.  DOD Notice – click on "Login With CAC Card"
    5.  Select tab "Course Catalog"
    6.  Click on U.S. Naval War College/Senior Enlisted Academy Professional Military Education
    7.  Click on Naval War College tab
    8.  Select Primary Professional Military Education
    9.  Select Primary Professional Military Education (Enlisted) E7-E9
  10.  Select ENROLL for each unit and add to Learning Plan
  11.  Return to My Learning tab and LAUNCH course

Funding/Billeting

 
  • Naval Medical Leader & Professional Development Command provides full funding for Active Duty  with the exception of rental cars. Active Duty billeting is at contract hotel with reservations made by NML&PDC staff.
  • SELRES are funded by RESCEN, billeting reservations are made by Reserve member.
  • Must have an active Government Travel Charge Card and Defense Travel System (DTS) account.
  • NOTE - Travelers must submit a travel authorization in DTS within five (5) days of receipt of Line of Accounting (LOA) and submit a voucher within five (5) days of return.
