NMCP REMOVES COVID-19 TESTING TENTS

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (June 22, 2021) One of the last vestiges of the efforts implemented at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic was removed from outside of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) Emergency Room – testing tents that provided car triage screening for the virus, June 15.



NMCP Holds Change of Command Ceremony

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (June 18, 2021) – Capt. Shelley Perkins became Naval Medical Center Portsmouth’s (NMCP) 79th commanding officer during a change of command ceremony on June 18. Perkins relieved Capt. Lisa Mulligan, who had commanded the medical center since July 2019.



Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s laboratory earns reaccreditation

Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s laboratory has earned reaccreditation from the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP) after a biennial inspection, in which zero deficiencies were noted.

PHILADELPHIA – One step closer to fulfilling his dream of serving the nation as a Navy doctor, West Cester, Pa. native, William Pinamont III commissioned as an Ensign during a ceremony held at the Union League of Philadelphia in the Adm. David Farragut room on June 17 - a date that also marked the 123rd Birthday of the U.S. Hospital Corps this year.
