Navy Medicine Education, Training and Logistics Command (NMETLC)
Navy Medicine Education, Training and Logistics Command (NMETLC) is an Echelon-3 Flag Headquarters that reports directly to the US Navy Surgeon General. NMETLC is located in San Antonio, Texas, and has oversight of Navy Medicine’s education, training and medical logistics. NMETLC’s mission is to deliver professional, occupational and operational education, training and logistic solutions to support the Navy Medicine mission.
Navy Reserve - Navy Medicine Education and Training Command (NR-NMETC)
Based in San Antonio, NR-NMETC directs Navy Reserve Medicine’s exportable Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course (TCCC). NR-NMETC delivers TNCC and TCCC training to the student by sending NR-NMETC instructors to Navy Operational Support Centers across the U.S. These NR-NMETC efforts help ensure the Navy Medicine reserve force is trained and ready to deploy, positively impact student satisfaction, and greatly reduce travel costs.
Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC)
Based in Pensacola, Florida, NMOTC is a Chief of Naval Operations designated warfare center of excellence for Operational Training with six detachments, 17 training sites and 60 facilities at 15 locations in eight states. NMOTC provides training for operational medicine and aviation survival.
Navy Medicine Professional Development Center (NMPDC)
Located in Bethesda, Maryland, NMPDC is the foundation of Navy Medicine’s professional and leadership development education and training mission, delivering high-velocity training solutions to prepare Navy Medicine to deploy to support war fighter. The staff oversees 1,500 Medical Department officers in graduate professional education opportunities at military and civilian medical learning institutions throughout the U.S. NMPDC administers the Medical Service Corps and Nurse Corps enlisted-to-officer commissioning programs. NMPDC offers 36 Continuing Dental Education courses to U.S. Federal and foreign military dental providers through on-site, text and video-based options, facilitates board certification and maintenance reimbursement, and provides eight professional development and leadership courses to over 1,100 students globally to U.S. and partner nation military medical personnel. NMPDC has oversight of the Naval Postgraduate Dental School (NPDS), also at Bethesda.
Navy Medicine Training Support Center (NMTSC)
NMTSC is based in San Antonio, Texas, and provides administrative and operational control over Navy staff and students assigned to the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC), in San Antonio. NMTSC has two detachments – one in San Diego, California, and one in Portsmouth, Virginia, that support clinical phases of advanced Hospital Corps School programs. NMTSC’s administrative and operational control includes a daily “A” and “C” School census of more than 2,000 enlisted students, approximately 60 student officers in medical and dental fellowships and officer programs, and 550 instructors and support staff. NMTSC also orchestrates 23 clinical rotations at military, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and civilian medical treatment facilities in Texas, California and Virginia.
Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC)
NMLC is Navy Medicine’s center for logistics expertise. Headquartered at Fort Dietrich, Maryland, NMLC supports Navy and Navy Medicine by designing, executing and administering individualized state-of-the-art solutions to meet its global customers’ medical material and health care service needs. NMLC’s mission focus areas include operational and expeditionary medical logistics support; Military Treatment Facility (MTF) logistics support; acquisition and analytics; and business, commercial and fiscal law services, including serving as a contract law adviser to Navy Medicine. NMLC oversees the Naval Opthalmic Support and Training Activity (NOSTRA), Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command (NEMSCOM), and NMLC Detachment Pirmasens, Germany.
