Field Activities
The Field Activities are the operational components of NMCPHC and are critical to maximizing the readiness of our Forces. While NMCPHC focuses a lot on public health policy development and analysis, the field activities focus primarily on implementation in operational theaters, including ashore, afloat, and expeditionary environments. More information on each of the field activities is provided below.
 

NEPMU-2

Navy Environmental Preventive Medicine Unit Two is located in Norfolk, VA and operates in the Atlantic area of responsibility. The NEPMUs provide operational services in Industrial Hygiene, Entomology, and Environmental and Occupational Health in the ashore, afloat, and expeditionary environments.

Navy Environmental Preventive Medicine Unit Five is located in San Diego, CA and operates in the Pacific area of responsibility. The NEPMUs provide operational services in Industrial Hygiene, Entomology, and Environmental and Occupational Health in the ashore, afloat, and expeditionary environments.

NDC

The Naval Dosimetry Center (NDC) serves as the Navy’s ionizing radiation dosimetry center of excellence for radiation protection programs for the Navy and Marine Corps, including dosimetry processing, dosimeter calibration, and consultation services.

NBIMC

The Navy Bloodborne Infection Management Center (NBIMC) oversees the administration and aid in the development of policies concerning the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C screening for the Navy.
