Force Master Chief PatrickPaul(PaP) C. Mangaran

Force Master Chief PaP Mangaran is from Pittsburg, CA and enlisted into the Navy September 29, 1997. He finished Hospital Corpsman “A” School on May 1998 with follow on orders to Advanced Medical Laboratory Technician “C” School, San Diego, CA via Field Medical Service School, Camp Pendleton, CA.
 
He reported to Naval Hospital Great Lakes, IL as a Medical Laboratory Technician from July 1998 through September 2002. He then reported to USS Constellation (CV 64) on October 2002.  Doing a split sea tour, he completed his sea rotation onboard the USS Tarawa (LHA 1).  In April 2005, he reported to Naval Hospital Corpsman “A” School as a staff instructor.
 
Master Chief Mangaran reported to 1st Marine Division (REIN) in Camp Pendleton, CA on July 2007 to December 2010.  During his tour with 1st Marine Division, he served as Battalion CPO, 2nd Battalion 4th Marines; Battalion LCPO, 3rd Battalion 1st Marines, and then LCPO, Navy Education and Training Office for 1st Marine Division.
 
He proceeded to Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Command Master Chief. Within 6 months onboard, he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/1 (REIN), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, WESTPAC 11-2. Upon his return to Naval Medical Center San Diego from deployment, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate for Clinical Support Services, Naval Medical Center San Diego. He then served onboard USS San Diego (LPD 22) from October 2013 through May 2015.
 
His Command Master Chief tours were to MCM Crew Conflict onboard USS Scout (MCM 8) from June 2015 until June 2016, USS Rushmore (LSD 47) from June 2016 until March 2018, Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command San Diego / Naval Medical Center San Diego from March 2018 until August 2020, 1st Marine Division (Fleet Marine Force) from September 2020 until June 2022.  He served as the 4th Director, Command Senior Enlisted Leader Management Office from June 2022 until September 2023. He assumed the duties as the 17th Force Master Chief, Bureau of Medicine & Surgery/Director of the Hospital Corps on October 27, 2023.
 
Master Chief Mangaran is a Master Training Specialist; has a Masters Degree in Clinical Research Administration and a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. He is a graduate of the SEA Class 176, CMC/COB Course Class 145, MCPON ELS 16-2, Keystone 23-1, NFLEX 2022, and FELIX #6. 
 
His decorations and awards include: Legion of Merit (1); Meritorious Service Medal (2); Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards); Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
