ABOUT US

Mission

Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Bremerton is comprised predominantly of military members that support NHB. The command supports overall Navy and Marine Corps readiness by training military command members to ensure they are ready to deploy and provide medical support to various operational Navy and Marine units deployed, ashore or at sea.

History

NHB/NMRTC Bremerton is a community-based acute care and obstetrical hospital, offering expert primary care, urgent care and a broad range of outpatient/same day medical and surgical specialties.

NHB is part of the Puget Sound Military Health System (PSMHS) recently certified by the Defense Health Agency as a Military Health System market, building upon the long history of collaboration between the services.

The hospital is conveniently located off Highway 3 in Kitsap County between Naval Base Kitsap (NBK) Bremerton and NBK Bangor. NHB is the parent command for three Branch Health Clinics. The three clinics are at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, NBK Bangor and Naval Station Everett.

Naval Hospital Bremerton and the clinic staff consist of approx. 1,100 dedicated military, federal service civilian and contractor personnel.

Naval Hospital Bremerton offers a variety of programs and services, providing our patients with the most effective and appropriate tools to maintain health and wellness for life. All services are centrally located at the main hospital with the exception of our health clinics and our drive-through satellite refill pharmacy, which is nearby in the Jackson Park Navy Family Housing area.
NHB’s legacy of providing patient-centered care, concern and compassion will continue as the command reshapes and re-aligns resources to better serve the beneficiary population through the pandemic.

The command’s primary focus since February, 2020 is to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in the third largest fleet concentration. NHB also continues on offering timely outpatient services with increased inpatient and ambulatory surgery to support the enrolled population. NHB will maximize resources to maintain mission readiness, provide value and continue quality patient-centered health care to all patients.
