140327-M-CO500-188 EAST CHINA SEA (March 27, 2014) The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), Expeditionary Strike Group 7, and Amphibious Squadron 11, transit in formation with Republic of Korea navy ships during Exercise Ssang Yong 2014. The exercise is conducted annually in the Republic of Korea (ROK) to enhance the interoperability of U.S. and ROK forces by performing a full spectrum of amphibious operations while showcasing sea-based power projection in the Pacific region.
