He earned his associate degree in general science from Vincennes University in 2007 and is currently pursuing a bachelor?s degree in health care administration from Trident University International. It was at that moment I made up my mind to be a Sailor. In May 2002, I migrated to the United States and finally had the opportunity to fulfill that dream. I moved to San Diego, California and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November. I attended recruit training and hospital corpsman basic school in Great Lakes, Illinois, and eventually pharmacy technician school in Portsmouth, Virginia, December 2003. As a pharmacy technician, I was stationed at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Branch Health Clinic Diego Garcia and USS Oak Hill (LSD 51). I also deployed aboard USNS Mercy (TAH-19) during Operation Unified Assistance, Pacific Partnership in 2008 and 2012. This gave me the opportunity to travel, and be a part of a humanitarian assistance mission in Indonesia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Micronesia, and the Philippines. I also deployed to NATO Role III Multinational Medical Unit (MMU), Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as an individual augmentee in 2013. While there, I led and developed an integrated joint-service pharmacy team in support of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)/International Security Assistance Forces personnel which directly contributed to MMU?s 98 percent survival rate. I work alongside eight corpsmen, a doctor and a dentist in a fast-paced tempo medical and dental department providing support to Sailors and Marines. The most rewarding aspect of my career in Navy Medicine is working and serving alongside my fellow service members, medical providers, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical personnel, sharing the common goal of enabling the health and well-being of our Sailors, Marines, their families and all others entrusted to us. I am committed to providing the highest quality and standard of care, and continuing my training to ensure 100 percent readiness to deploy in support of our operational goals.
