The Naval Hospital Jacksonville Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program helps motivated corpsmen complete the steps required to earn National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification. The EMT Program bridges the gap between individual effort and certification success - strengthening both the Sailor’s professional development and the Navy’s medical readiness. This 3-week preparatory course is an extremely rigorous, fast-paced academic and practical challenge designed specifically to prepare high-caliber personnel for the demanding National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) examination.

During the program, Sailors are instructed how to quickly manage trauma, medical emergencies, and several first responder aspects of saving lives. The first full EMT Program saw all 10 of its Sailors graduate.
